ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hi, I’m Mariel.
Clay has been part of my life since childhood—digging it up in Georgia, finding quiet in it through instability, loss, and constant change. I’ve moved more times than I can count, survived seasons of scarcity, raised two incredible boys as a single mom, and rebuilt my life more than once.
Through everything, pottery was my constant.
It was the place I could breathe, heal, and become.
In 2022, after walking through a painful divorce, I learned the word surmount—to overcome. That word became my compass. My work is about faith, resilience, and the beauty that forms when we keep going.
Each piece is made with intention, prayer, and the hope that it leaves you feeling a little more whole than before.
